Meet the Green Cross Code Man!

The Green Cross Code is a road safety awareness initiative by the National Road Safety Campaign (now the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, or RoSPA) which began in 1970.

The Green Cross Code Man was a superhero character created as a teaching aid.

 In television advertisements the Green Cross Code Man was played by David Prowse, who famously went on to play the villain Darth Vader in Star Wars!
