A Future for

For three years, Roadster Magazine! has existed as a parent and child hobby, started by Sam when he was just 8 years old and supported by his Dad.

Over this time we have developed Roadster! into a unique, child-led connected learning platform proving that we can successfully connect the motor industry to the next generation through engaging child-focused educational content. We've produced regular issues, seen organic growth, and secured brilliant industry acclaim.

But is Roadster! just a hobby, or is it something more worthwhile? We believe it has the potential to be something with real educational impact and value.

Our volunteer hobby model has hit a wall and we lack the capacity to go on. While we have enjoyed continual growth, our commercial sales are not enough to sustain Roadster!   We need more funds, more time, more knowledge, more expertise, more capacity.  In order to truly scale Roadster! and make it a success we need a full-time, professional structure.

OUR VISION

Our vision is for Roadster! to become a self-sustaining Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), funded by a dedicated Industry Consortium. Backed by the motoring industry, we would implement a permanent "Free-to-Schools" distribution model, with teaching resources, and opportunities for hands-on learning. Our magazine is not just for junior petrolheads - it has a greater educational greater value.

OUR PLAN

We have developed a  bold but structured plan to transition Roadster! into a self-sustaining Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), funded by a dedicated Industry Consortium.

2026-2029

With a restructured day job working pattern we will devote more time to developing Roadster! We will initially take a day a week to further develop and validate our plan, and set up the legal structure for a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

We will secure small seed-funding and bridging grants to add more hours to Roadster! and fund  legal, governance, and volunteer support. We will also use grant funding to improve our infrastructure and roll out a sliding scale schools print and distribution model.

2030

With our initial concept shifted to a proven grant-funded model we will seek and secure major grant funding to move Roadster! to a full-time model. Our focus will be on moving from reliance on grants to self-sustainability through an industry funded consortium.
