Supercar Corner - with James Male

Not only did I meet Sam and the rest of the ‘Roadster!’ team for the first time at the January Bicester Scramble, but I also saw two (!) Aston Martin Valkyries!
These are AMAZING cars! When you see these spaceships in the metal it is obvious why they are regarded as the wildest cars on the road. They sit so low, the sculpture of the aerodynamic design is stunning and they draw BIG crowds!
The Valkyrie is primarily designed for the track, so while it is super fast, it is a bit bumpy and loud for everyday driving!
You might be struggling to convince your parents to add one to the garage but DON’T WORRY, because Aston Martin has a solution for you! It is called the Valhalla and it is Aston’s attempt at creating a more refined and usable supercar, without dampening the performance.
Parents will like the fact that the Valhalla will be more comfortable than the Valkyrie, as the suspension will likely be softer and the weight saving will be less extreme to give customers a more luxurious interior. For example, it will include speakers to listen to your favourite tunes, unlike the Valkyrie which can only play music through clunky headphones!
Even though it's amazing, your parents might have some concerns about the Valhalla’s supercar price… as it will cost around £600,000! If they say that is too expensive just tell them that the Valhalla is around a quarter of the cost of the Valkyrie, AND it STILL has around 87% of the Valkyrie’s power… making it a REAL bargain!
The bodywork is slightly less radical, making speed bumps and curbs less alarming, but lots of styling cues remain such as the ridiculously cool rear lights that look like carefully cut shards of glass, and a huge rear diffuser pulling the car down into the road to help with grip.
The Valhalla is capable of completing journeys of less than 9 miles purely with its electric motor, so not only is it kinder to the environment, but it will also save your parents money on their fuel bills… making it perfect for the school run!
The electric motor is paired with a V8 engine which makes the Valhalla a direct rival to the Ferrari SF90 XX that we reviewed two issues ago. Compare the fact cards… which which is your favourite?
The Valhalla will be on the road later this year but your parents need to act fast! Although there will be around 849 more Valhallas than Valkyries they will still sell quickly!
Hopefully your reminders that the Valhalla is cheaper, more usable, and just as exciting to drive as the Valkyrie will persuade your parents to place an order… but you may have to settle for a poster!
