Nicholas recently got in touch with ROADSTER! to tell us all about his first ever driving lesson with Young Driver!
“I had a very good time at Stoneleigh Park taking a driving lesson with Young Driver. They offer driving lessons for ages 4-17. As it was my first lesson, I had a 30-minute session but you could also have a 60 minute lesson.
When I arrived, I collected my driving diary from reception desk and then waited for my instructor. I got to drive a Vauxhall Corsa. I was a bit nervous before the lesson and certainly didn’t expect to sit in the driving seat straight away! Once you get going, you have a good time getting to grips with the car where you do some steering tasks and some clutch work. For example, I had to do a bit of a slalom and some figure of 8 driving which gets you used to steering and power control. I then did some clutch work to understand how the gears work. My instructor was very good and let me make mistakes, I learned from her and she told me what I would need to do and how I could improve.
Overall, I found it a really good experience with very supportive people and would recommend anyone to give it a go”
