Haynes Motor Museum in Somerset has the UK's largest collection of cars and bikes, dating from 1885 to the present day.

Peter from the Roadster! Team went along with his family for a day out to find out more!

School holidays mean fun days out for me, my Mum, Dad and my sister Ellie.

We went to the Haynes Motor Museum near Yeovil.

The museum was founded by John Haynes in 1985. You may recognise the Haynes name from the Haynes manuals - a range of DIY guide books on how to work on your car. They have published over 200 million manuals since the first in 1966!

John Haynes wanted to share his passion for cars with others, so he set up a museum to house his vast collection. The museum is housed in a former WWII munitions depot and showcases a diverse collection of vehicles from around the world. It's a constantly evolving space, with exhibits changing regularly, as there are so many cars in the collection!

We had a great day! The Haynes Motor Museum is a really good family day out. They have an outdoor display where I got to sit in some cars. They also have motorbikes, all sorts of racing cars, American Classics and the incredible “Red Room”, where every car is, of course, RED! There was so much to see, including Richard Hammond's Drivetribe Exhibition. I didn’t even mention the Ferrari Room or the Williams F1 display!

The Haynes Motor Museum also takes family fun very seriously too! There's something for everyone, from exciting exhibits to fun play areas for kids. Kids can also enjoy climbing frames, go-karts, and even drive their own little cars!

It's a perfect way to spend a day out with the whole family. I would really recommend a visit!

Haynes Motor Museum is open all day, every day (except 24th, 25th & 26th December and 1st January). Visit https://www.haynesmuseum.org/ for more information.
