Aston Martin Heritage Festival

At the end of August the Aston Martin Heritage Trust will be holding its Heritage Festival at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon. Here, ROADSTER! Sam looks back to his visit to last year’s event and tells readers what to expect.

Aston Martin is my favourite car manufacturer! This British car company makes some of the coolest and fastest cars around. The cars are sleek and stylish and my favorite supercar for secret agents (and normal people too!). I’d love an Aston Martin when I am old enough to drive!

A Long time ago: Back in 1904, two men named Lionel Martin and Richard Bamford decided to build race cars. They took Lionel's last name and called their company Aston Martin, after a famous hill climb race in England!

Fast and Fancy: From the start, Aston Martins were known for their speed and beautiful designs. They won races and turned heads wherever they went!

Ups and Downs: Aston Martin has had a bit of a bumpy ride over the years. Sometimes they made lots of cars, sometimes just a few, but they've always focused on making high-quality, special vehicles.

For Everyday Heroes: While some Aston Martins are super expensive and exclusive, they also make cars that more people can afford. So next time you see a sleek car zoom by, it might just be an Aston Martin on a secret mission (or maybe just a neighbour popping to the shops!)

Today, Aston Martin is still making history, and their cars are known for their speed, style, and a little bit of mystery.

The BEST place to see these amazing cars is at the Aston Martin Heritage Festival! It is organised by the Aston Martin Heritage Trust, an organisation which looks after Aston Martin’s history. It has a museum in Oxfordshire and lots of important Aston Martin cars.

At last year’s festival we saw hundreds of these very special cars gathered in the car park! We saw rare and one-off models, as well as vast collections of regular production cars… everyone one of them beautiful!

There were over 2,000 visitors last year. We got to see the amazing record breaking Bulldog (featured in issue four), the newly released DB12 and, my favourite, THE DB5 that James Bond drives!

What will we see this year? At Goodwood Festival of Speed I got to sit in a Valkyrie, and see the new Valour and Valient… so I am hoping they are at the Festival too!!
