Bloxham Steam & Country Fair 2026: What to Expect

Last year’s Bloxham Steam & Country Fair was one of the biggest in its 50‑plus‑year history — huge crowds, rare engines, scorching sunshine, and more machinery than you could see in a single lap of the showground. If 2025 was anything to go by, 2026 is shaping up to be even better, and it’s all happening just minutes from Roadster! HQ!

Last year the fair pulled in well over 10,000 visitors, with more than 50 full‑size steam engines firing up across the fields. There were classic cars, vintage tractors, military trucks, heavy horses, falconry displays, model tents, and a full fairground!

A rare 1887 Lampitt traction engine even made a surprise appearance its first public outing in years.

Roadster! loved the mix of noise, history, engineering and hands‑on demos. You could watch a 100‑year‑old steam roller trundle past, then turn around and see a row of classic Minis or a restored WWII Jeep. It was crazy the amount of variety on display.

The full size steam engines are glorious, and the sight and smell is a wonder to behold. We were even lucky to see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight fly past with its impressive World War II era Lancaster Bomber!

One of our favourite areas was the Cole’s Transportation line-up of long distance HGV trucks. Their artwork is resplendent and it is a real treat to be able to see it all together and up close!

And Roadster! Sam loved the vintage “Cake Walk” funfair ride!

2026 is expected to bring:

• Even more full‑size steam engines — several restorations are due to debut.

• A bigger classic car lineup, including more 80s and 90s icons.

• Expanded tractor and agricultural displays, thanks to record exhibitor interest.

• More hands‑on engineering demos, perfect for young enthusiasts.

• Evening entertainment both nights (you can even camp there!).

We love the atmosphere: the smell of coal smoke, the sound of whistles, the rumble of old engines, and the feeling that you’ve stepped into a living museum! Every machine on display tells a story about how engines, power, and design evolved over 150 years. If you’re into cars, motorsport, tractors, or mechanical design, this is the kind of event that sparks the imagination!

And because it’s right on Banbury’s doorstep, it’s one of the easiest ways to get close to real machinery, real engineers, and real history.
