Between January and February all of the competing Formula One Teams launched their new cars and liveries for 2023. The Aston Martin Formula One reveal felt particularly significant, as the Team has a lot riding on it.
Aston Martin first competed in Formula One way back in 1959, but after they failed to score any points in two seasons they withdrew in 1960.
In 2021 the Aston Martin name was back in Formula One, rising from the ashes of earlier teams including Jordan Grand Prix and Racing Point (Canadian businessman Lawrence Stroll led a group to buy Racing Point and it was rebranded to Aston Martin F1 Team when he became part-owner and executive chairman of Aston Martin).
Quadruple World Championship Winner Sebastian Vettel joined the team but it was a bumpy start, with the car not as competitive as the Team had hoped. In the 2022 season the team had hoped to make significant improvements but ended up finishing in 10th place, in exactly the same place as 2021.
2023 sees the Team enter year three of a five year plan to climb to the top!
With new people on the team, a bigger, more resourceful team, a new F1 factory at Silverstone nearing completion, a new star driver in double World Champion Fernando Alonso, and a new F1 car, Aston Martin Racing are certainly a Team to watch!

The Wisdom of Alonso
"Whatever you do in life, you have to have this competitiveness inside you – you have to have this hunger to be the best. I've had this hunger since I was a kid. "
“We have to use our ingenuity and be creative in everything we do”.
“I always try to give my maximum. I'm never demotivated”
“ I have to make sure that I give 100 per cent on every lap of every race”.
.
“Every driver on the grid is very talented, but I'm also in that group and everyone in that group has different strengths and weaknesses. It's how you use those strengths and weaknesses that sets you apart”.
Into the Action with Roadster!
ROADSTER! was extremely privileged to be invited to attend the Aston Martin Racing 2023 Formula One Car Launch Fan event in London and was there when the new Aston Martin F1 car was unveiled to the world!
The AMR23 car launch actually took place in Aston Martin Racing's brand new, purpose-built F1 factory at the Silverstone race track, but a handful of fans were invited to witness the reveal at a private event held in partnership with one of the Team's key sponsors.
It was an amazing experience! ROADSTER! got to share the excitement of the AMR23 car reveal on a big screen together with lots of other fans. Toni Cowan-Brown (aka @F1Toni) flew in from San Francisco to host, and ROADSTER! got to meet and mingle with members of the Team itself, including drivers Felipe Drugovich & Jessica Hawkins.
Roadster! also got to have a try on the AMF1 racing simulator, supported by driver aces from the AMF1 Esports Team.

“It was really exciting to be able to go to London and see the new car get revealed with lots of other fans. I was a bit scared as I was the only child there!
It was good fun though! There was a selfie booth where you could choose different hats (I decided to stay with my new cap!). I drank lots of cranberry juice and two engineers from the Team talked to me about Roadster! and I gave them a copy.
Everyone cheered when the flag was taken off the car. It looked really fast! I was a bit surprised by it - the wheels looked huge!
The simulator was very realistic! I sat in a racing car seat. It had a really cool steering wheel - it was like a proper racing car, with a screen which showed the speed and when you changed gear. You changed gear with paddles on the side. It was great fun to drive but I crashed a lot!
